Resumo:	Este estudo comparativo dos métodos de avaliaçao da deficiência analisa os diversos critérios que regem a atribuiçao de prestaçoes pecuniárias e outros auxílios às pessoas com deficiência nos 22 países membros do Conselho da Europa. Foram identificadas e examinadas quatro abordagens fundamentais: o método das tabelas, a avaliaçao das necessidades em matéria de cuidados, a determinaçao das capacidades funcionais e a estimativa dos danos económicos. O relatório descreve além disso o papel das equipas pluridisciplinares na tomada de decisao de atribuiçao de prestaçoes pecuniárias e de ajudas pessoais e, mais especificamente, para a avaliaçao das capacidades da pessoa tendo em vista a sua reabilitaçao e (re) integraçao profissionais e sociais (a reabilitaçao tem prioridade sobre o subsídio). O relatório sublinha a necessidade de uma comunicaçao transfronteiriça acrescida bem como de uma harmonizaçao dos métodos de avaliaçao da deficiência na Europa.
